Originally when I started Wellington Motors I was just looking for a way to make a few bucks on the side. I had just finished my A&P degree at Northland Technical College and had started my career as an airplane mechanic – but I had time on my hands and liked to fix things.
Why not?
That tiny side job that started with fixing one chainsaw has grown into something I wouldn’t ever have imagined. Through an amazing network of customers, word spread about my repair service and then I was really in business.
I really came to enjoy running this company. I love talking to people and seeing how happy people are when they get their machine back working beautifully. I love making connections with neighbors and people in the community – especially when I see them around town and say hi. Or neighbors will drive by and see me out working and honk and wave. In this business there’s a lot of variety with the different types of machines but also meeting new people all the time.
That’s why in 2019 I quit my job to do Wellington Motors full time. My business had grown to a point where I was left with almost no free time between my full time job at Sun Country Airlines and my work at Wellington Motors. I had a choice to make and I knew this was what I wanted to do.
I look forward to continuing to fix your stuff. Keep spreading the word you guys, I sure do appreciate it.
